Cleaning cartridges
Hi all.
I have 3 cleaning cartridges in my tape library with addresses: F1;C1;R2, F1;C1;R3, F1;C1;R4. But in NW console I don't see any cleaning cartridge and I have message: No cleaning cartridge can be find for device(for each of 8 devices). In library options it is determined 1111 slot as a slot with cleaning cartridge, but after I do inventory of this slot, it shows me data cartridge.
Question: how can I obtain slot number from the physical location in the tape library. If I do, I can determine range of cleaning slots in library options.
Thanks for advance.

There you have it, since your cleaning cartridges are in the other logical library you are not able to get them in NetWorker. You could disable auto-cleaning in NetWorker and let the library management software take care of it.

Yes, The names as displayed under the column "barcode" in the JB. You could eject the cleaning cartridges to the I/O cap and check what names they have and put them back.

Is BarCode the same as Volume serial?

The system cannot find the file specified.

On a SCSI controlled jukebox run "sjirdtag scsidev@ ".
Then verify the result, especially for the last slots of the "Element Type STORAGE" section. Compare the entries for "VolumeTag".

I started inventory of the library, but don't see any cartridge with label starts with CLNU. In WEB-interface of the library I see 3 of them. Another thing that I discover is that they have another logical library(cln cartridge) instead of logical library with data cartridges. Is it normal?

Finding a slot number relevant to the slot location in the library is a little tricky.
Cleaning cartridges come with bar-codes, find the those label in JB configured in NetWorker and you have found your cleaning cartridges.

Is your library partitioned ? If yes, you will have to ensure that the cleaning catridges are in the correct partition.
Also, you could just disable the Auto-Cleaning in NetWorker and let the library manage the drive cleanings.
Also, can you run the following command on your backup server.
windows - nsrjb | findstr /I clu
UNIX/Linux - nsrjb | grep -i clu

I can't find a way how I can Assign cleaning cartridges to my logical library. So I'ii switch off cleaning mode in the NW.
Thanks :-)

I ran this command and didn't get anything.
I my library only one logical library, but cleaning cartridges are in another logical library. As for data cartridgesI can change logical library, but as for cleaning-I can't do that.
I remember, that in the past I have to assign data cartridges to my logical library or I couldn't see them in NW console
