We sort of found the reason to the error. The NMSQL works fine when we switch to another window user.

Perhaps the account we are using does not have certain rights to access some files needed for NMSQL.

When we rebooted and using the usual login that we have been using, it shows the same error (red cross, no message).

Only when we use another account to access NMSQL then there is no error.

Do you have SQL admin permissions?

Seems to be a software compatibility issue. A reboot or Clean Boot (also requires a reboot) may resolve this issue.

Since it is not convenient for you to reboot the system, you may try using the command line or using the console from another NMSQL client if it is a cluster configuration.

I have tried installing Networker User for SQL on a test server without any SQL server installed, and it can still launch, so I don't think it is a permission issue. And also, SQL backup still works fine.

This is also a Cluster setup. The problem is occuring on an active node. There is no issue on the passive node.

There is no error at all on windows event log, daemon.raw or nsrsqlsv.raw

No, this is not a new setup. It's been working for a very long time.

As mentioned above, the SQL backup is still working fine. Just that I

cannot launch the Networker User for SQL program.

It's not NMM, its the old Networker Module for SQL

Hi Martin

Please may you share the following.

  • OS Version
  • SQL Version
  • NMM Version

I also take it that the Installation/Configuration is in line with EMC Recommended Configuration For Networker on MSCS

Is this a New Installation, if Not did this ever work..?

Regards

Michael

Try to start it as nsrsqlrc -s -c NSR_CLIENT_4_CLUSTER -a .
