Dell Inspiron e1505 cannot acquire network address.
Hello, I have a dell inspiron e1505 with a dell wireless 1390 wlan mini card and I recently used the installation disc that came with the laptop to install a fresh copy of windows xp on an empty partition. I have installed all the latest drivers, also. The problem is that I can connect to my WiFi network but it is stuck on acquiring network address. I have tried releasing and renewing the ip in command prompt, reset winsock, and have mad sure all the correct services are on automatic and are started. Please help me solve my problem. Thank you.

Fr3dThomas,
Do the power cycle.
Power off your ISP modem/router and your wireless router(if any) for 30 seconds. Then power on the ISP modem/router. Wait 15 seconds, then power on the wireless router(if any)
Restart the computer and try to connect.
What happens?
Can yhou connect next to the router?
Start, control panel, network and sharing center, manage network connections. Right click on your wireless connection, left click properties. Look for TCP/IPv4 and TCP/IPv6 and click on properties for each. Have your settings match mine.
If you're under warranty, I would contact Dell Tech Support.

Fr3dThomas,
Start, all programs, accessories, right click on command prompt. Type
ipconfig /release (space between the g and /)
Hit enter. Then type
ipconfig /renew (space between the g and /)
Hit enter, then restart your computer.

Fr3dThomas,
The adapter is not getting an ip address from the router. Try reading Setting up/Troubleshooting a Wireless Network
Are you using Mac Address Filtering?
Virus program blocking the ip address. Do you have AVG installed? How about Norton?
If these thing do not work, then contact Dell Tech Support

I would like to know your solution also, since I have been following this thread and own an E1505 myself.
