CPU upgrade on the 7000 Micro
Has anyone did a CPU upgrade on the 7000 Micro? I have a i5-12500T with DDR4. I like to upgrade to a i7-12700 or "K", is that possible? Do I need to get a 130 or 180W power supply? Mine came with a 90W.
Originally I wanted just a simple i5. But I really like this machine and wanted to do some performance upgrade.

12700 is possible. that is one of the dell validated cpu for 7000M.
for 12700 you probably need the highest power 180W Dell adapter.
the cooler in micro is too weak to cool a 125W -k cpu. you can run it but the cpu fan will be high all the time and cooling still poor resulting in thermal throttle. there is a reason why Dell validated T or low power cpu in micro (35-65W).
Dell validated cpu:

Can the 7000 be upgraded with an Intel 13th gen given the sockets are the same? I know Dell has released a new version of the Optiplex with 13th gen, but would be curious if the upgrade can be performed (assuming BIOS would support it).
