Optiplex 5050 BIOS feature request - sata hot-plug option

Would it be possible to add an option in the next BIOS update for the Optiplex 5050 MT to allow setting any specific SATA port as hot-plug compatible? As it stands there is no such option and, in Windows 10, none of the ports appear as external/removable devices when used.

From what Intel states in https://www.intel.ca/content/www/ca/en/support/articles/000006447/technologies.html, hot-swap capability has to be enabled by the manufacturer or oem.

This is a primarily users helping users with problems forum and not a direct line to Dell.

Thttps://www.dell.com/community/Customer-Care/bd-p/Customer-Care?ref=lithium_menuhe Customer Care forum section would be the most applicable for your request.

Isn't that primarily a server and NAS technology? The OptiPlex 5050 is a workstation.

You can add whatever PCIe add-in cards you want ... including eSATA and USB-3.1 .
