OptiPlex 7070 SFF Continually Crashing
Hello,
I purchased this desktop as refurbished earlier this year and over the past couple of days, it has been crashing on me. I use a Dual Monitor KVM switch to switch between my OptiPlex and my work laptop. The desktop is projecting to 3 external monitors, and the switch projects the laptop to only two of those monitors. The crash does not occur when I am actively using the KVM switch, but wanted to clarify setup. When the freeze/crash occurs, mouse of course doesn't work and I can still see my desktop on one monitor, but the other two screens have static displayed on them (fuzzy/colorful lines).
Anyway, I created a custom error log in Event Viewer and will post screenshots below - I hope that helps
It seems most of the errors are coming from "StorPort" source.
Since I am a trader, having my computer crash on me is the very worst thing possible to happen mid-trade, so I really need to figure out the root of this problem! Thank you in advance for any assistance.

can you explain whether the 7070 sff still crashes when you connect it directly to 3 monitors, without KVM and without sharing monitor w laptop? If yes, remove all ram sticks, install only 1 back then test stability. If only 1 out of 2 or 4 ram does this you would ve nailed the culprit.

Also, how much RAM is in the 7070 and are you using Win10 or 11?

@redxps630 I have not tried this and I guess this would be the next troubleshooting step. Was just hoping something within the event viewer log would signal a more concrete answer! Thank you both for the help

event viewer is often nebulous. but usual suspects are only a few, some easily replaceable n some not.

I would try redxps' idea first with troubleshooting with the monitors.
I'm not sure if it would help, but one can try going into F12 Boot & Diagnostics menu and run Diagnostics and see if that turns up anything.
Thanks for answering RAM and OS question. Just wanted to make sure there's enough RAM for the operating system and then some. Low RAM can also cause crash issues. But I also imagine if it were the RAM, the whole system would go down entirely.
I know you mentioned the KVM switch. Are you using a GPU card for the 3 monitors or going direct off of the 7070?

@bradthetechnut Thank you for your additional follow-up.
It looks like 2 of my monitors, the ones that "fail" with the static screen/crash, are the ones connected to my AMD Radeon RS 430 (let's call these monitors #1 and #2), while my 3rd monitor (#3) is connected to my onboard Intel card. #3 acts as the monitor for both computers. Monitors #1 and #3 are connected to the KVM switch. Monitor #2 is connected directly to my 7070.

So at first you said monitor #2 is connected to your RS 430. At the end of the pgh., it's said it's directly connected to the 7070. I think it's the one connected directly to the RS 430?
Either way, are you thinking what I'm thinking? That even though the card is suppose to work with the 7070, it could be the culprit. You might want to try it in a different PC to see if it still crashes or try a different GPU in the 7070.

Quadro 40w P600 2 GB has 4 mini DP ports. Comes with adapters to connect to full-size DP plug.
Same for 47w Quadro P1000, except it has 4GB, which may be better for your use.
Both cards are in the wattage range for your PSU.
