Optiplex 9020 mt won’t detect gpu
Hi, I’ve actually seen a few posts detailing a similar problem as the one I’m facing but none of the solutions that resolved their issues have helped me so I thought I’d post too.
I have a 9020 MT and I just upgraded from a Radeon rx 570 to a GeForce rtx 2060Super. The pc also has an upgraded 650w psu and a new cmos battery. My problem is the GPU is powered on and the fan runs just fine, but the pc doesn’t detect it. I can’t install drivers because the NVIDIA installer doesn’t detect the GPU and device manager isn’t seeing anything either (nothing when I scan for hardware changes or hidden devices).
I’ve tried booting in every possible way I can including uefi with and without secure boot. I think I corrupted my os so I’ve done a clean wipe and have upgraded bios as well. I also don’t have any other machines to plug the gpu into to test if it works besides the fan running fine. The only thing I can think of is plugging in the old gpu to see if the pci slot still works, but that won’t get me anywhere with detecting the GeForce. Any ideas? I would greatly appreciate any help. Thanks!
