optiplex3050

i have a dell optiplex3050 desktop computer   i am trying to heek up a camera and mic up to it but i only have 1 port in the front     i have tried the front and back port but mic is not working  my plugs are a  trs and it says the computer hookup will use either   is there a adapter i can get for my 3.5mm to put it  thru my a usb port   thank you

@bradthetechnut​  will this solve the problem and work for me and i need it for mic only my camera puts the sound out,   i can see and hear them buy they can not hear me but they see me

there are 2 of them a black one and white one are they the same

The above is $9.95 USD.  The $4.98 one may be a little too cheap, bottom of the barrel.

You're using it for a mic and not a headset (plug is a little different) so it should work fine.

i got the device and it did not help   i had mic working but lost sound though my pc speakers     any more suggestions

Plug speakers into output on the adapter.  Using the adapter disables onboard audio jacks.

Sorry to see you're still having bad luck with it.  The only other thing I can suggest is get a PCIe sound card.  They normally have input and output ports.  Many also have extra ports for surround sound.

I don't know if you have the mini tower or SFF, but sound cards usually come with large and small brackets.

I'm not sure why plugging speakers into the output jack on the adapter didn't work.
