Unable to run updates in Dell Command
So I have a OptiPlex 5050 that is having issues running updates from Dell Command Center. When I try to run and check updates for the system, a message pops up saying this: 'No update information is available. A system security error has occurred.' The previous version of Dell Command Center was 4.7.1 and was manually updated to 4.8.0, but still having issues.
Any help would be greatly appreciated since there has been nothing that I have seen online that has covered this.

Same thing here. Just re-imaged a Optiplex 5050 and get "A system Security error has occurred" using 4.7.1. Quite frustrating

I am coming across the same issue. Do we have a fix for this? Is this regarding the TPM?

Same here but for Latitude PCs... 4.7.1 and 4.8.0 too. On 2 devices I've upgraded TPM, complete re-installed DCU, manually BIOS upgraded, nothing helped.

Same issue here on a brand new Precision 3571. Reinstalled fresh windows 10 and installed command update and just keep getting. "A System Security error has occurred".
Support assist also doesn't run correctly

Same here as well on an brand new out of the box Latitude 5530, which came with 4.7.1. Uninstalled it and installed 4.8 but did not resolve the problem. I installed 8 of them this monday and they worked just fine, need to check one of them again to see if they got the problem now as well.

I am having the same issue on an OptiPlex 7070 with Windows 11. Dell Command Update told me about some updates a week or so ago, I got around to trying to install them today and got the error described above - "No update information is available. A system security error has occurred." I am on V4.8.0 of Dell Command Update.

Just checked one of my Lat 5530 that I installed this monday (it´s friday today) which where working just fine with Dell Command. Same issue on the first one of the eight that i picked. Also checked one that installed a few weeks ago that has ben shut down since then, same issue there as well.
My Lat 5330 does not have the issue yet, and both my 5530´s and 5330 are running W10 ver 22H2 with OS-version 19045.2728 and with Windows Feature Experience Pack 120.2212.4190.0 (don´t know what the latter is).
I guess that Dell will adress this in the end but it is pretty annoying. If I have the time and the problem persists I will try and call their support line.

Same issue here on both a number of Latitude laptops and Optiplex desktops, all older models.

I'm seeing this exact error today also.
Dell XPS 15 9500 (Windows 11) - attempted updates on Dell Command | Update 4.6.0 and 4.8.0, receiving same error on both versions.
Any word from Dell on this?

Just fixed this issue for both of my laptops, worked for DCU 4.8.0 and 4.3.0, perhaps the same will work for you:
1. Go to Windows Update, and pause updates
2. Click 'Resume Updates', this will force Windows to check for any new updates
3. Install any available updates (I also installed the 2023-03 Cumulative Update Preview)
4. Restart your pc, try to run DCU
In my case both started working fine right away - Windows 11 22H2

Crazy how loads of people are having this issue as well. I went and checked other things that may be tripping this, such as the TPM version, DCU version, etc. I've noticed that a majority (or close to half and half) are computers with this issue in this forum have Windows 11. The computer with this issue is running a version of office 365 that looks like it would be running on a Windows 11 computer, but the computer itself is running Windows 10. I'm curious if there is something within Windows 11, or programs that are supposed to be running in 11 that is flagging an security issue, causing the issue that I, as well as many others, are having. That is my theory, noticing that a majority of the people in this forum are running 11 and the problem computer that I have is running a version of office 365 for 11 for some random reason... Eventually Dell will hopefully address this issue soon enough.

My PC was upgraded from Windows 10 to Windows 11 and had both Dell Command Update and Dell Command Update for Windows Universal apps installed. I deleted both apps and reinstalled only the Dell Command Update for Windows Universal. That seems to have resolved the issue.
