PowerEdge R210 II install Ubuntu Server on SATA RAID1 array
Hi,
I've set Embedded SATA to RAID in Bios 2.10.0
I've created a Virtual Disk RAID1 in PERC S100 Virtual Disk Management 2.0.0-0162
But in Ubuntu Server 20.04 Storage Configuration I still see the individual drives and can't see the raid array I've created
In Unified Server Configurator 1.5.5.18 (F10) I don't have any options to configure storage or RAID
Am I missing or doing something wrong?
Regards,
Ionut

Hello ionmang20,
We have a couple issues with your purposed build. The S100 controller is a Window only controller and Dell has not validated Ubuntu for the R210 II
References:
Page 29 Table 3-2. Specifications for the PERC S100 > Supported operating systems

Your PowerEdge R210 II supports these operating systems:

Maybe someone in the community has tried this and can share their experience.

Hi Charles,
I'm not able to mark your reply as the solution, every time I press the button it throws an error.
Maybe you can do it

Hi Charles,
Thank you for pointing out that the RAID Controller S100 is only supported with Windows
After doing some more research I see that linux distributions will not see the controller and the only option is software RAID and the Embedded SATA is best to be kept at AHCI in this case

Hello Ionut,
Thank you for the update and intention to mark the post. It may be my profile not allowing you to select it. I see some weird things hapening on the form under my profile that is being looked into.
Thank you again.
