Can't Detect Hard Disk
Dear Sir,
I just had this T320 and my problem now is i dont have any cd's, drives, manuals, etc. coz they shipped this from china. I tried to follow all instructions but failed to find the 2 500HDD installed (Dell Constellation).
Please help me to run the system. I tried ATA AHCI RAID and so on but failed to detect the hard drive.
Thank you for all your support and regards to all.

Hi there,
The reason that Windows installation doesnot see the drives, is because the drivers of PERC is not loaded.
Here's what I can suggest:
1) You saw foreign configration in PD MGMT. (Something I need to know is, you are about to install a new windows, right?) - If yes, clear foreign configuration. Reference page 44: ftp://ftp.dell.com/Manuals/Common/poweredge-rc-h310_User%27s%20Guide_en-us.pdf
2) After deleting, go ahead and create a RAID. Reference page 41, same link.
3) You can proceed to install windows using a few methods. I would recommend Page 8 "Instaling Microsoft Windows Server 2008 R2 Using USC"
ftp://ftp.dell.com/Manuals/all-products/esuprt_electronics/esuprt_software/esuprt_operating_system/ms-win-srvr-2008-r2_Reference%20Guide2_en-us.pdf
Let me know the outcome.

You don't have to use RAID, but I would recommend it if you don't have a good and specific reason for not using it ... you simply leave RAID unconfigured, but in any case, the foreign configuration must first be cleared (VD MGMT screen, highlight controller, F2, Foreign, Clear).

WHERE are the drives not found? By the OS? In the BIOS?
Your drives are probably connected to a RAID controller ... what/where are you drives actually connected to?
What OS are you trying to install?

That would assume that you are using a PERC H310 or H710 as a controller. If you aren't using one of those, it will be the wrong driver.
The Integrated controller should be set to enabled in the BIOS. Onboard SATA operation settings (AHCI/ATA) will make NO difference.
Download the driver above (IF you are using an H310/H710) and run it to extract the files, then put ALL the files on your flash drive. Do NOT include the INF file alone - they must all be present.

sir, thank you for your reply
Im installing windows server 2008 R2 and i tried to download the file named M20VR/PERCSAS2.INF but it was said that device driver could not be installed. Contract your vendor for an update driver.
I tried to set on RAID, AHCI and ATA but non of them work.

I never posted a link ... you referenced the file name, so I didn't include a link since it seemed you had it.
That driver lists the T320 in the compatibility list, but it appears it is not the latest version ... use this one:
http://ftp.dell.com/FOLDER01460337M/3/SAS-RAID_Driver_R2_4R5XT_A03_6.801.5.0_ZPE.exe
Do you see the drives in the CTRL-R utility (PD MGMT screen)?

Hi sir, im using PERC H310 Adapter and haven't tried to use H710. All files are in the same folder (5 files including the INF).

Yes sir, I can see now the 2 drives 465 GB from the PD MGMT screen, one is online and the other is foreign (ATA), but when installing windows server 2008 R2, there were no hard drive showing in the set up.
Thank you for your kind support.
