Windows Server 2019 - Home Server Setup
I have Win Server 2019 installed in my R420 rack but need to start all the configurations. The options and possibilities from here are quite a bit to digest for a newb like me. Looking thru the forums here made my head spin as well. For a simple and basic home server setup, with the intent to archive family stuff, cloned drive backups, and such, what would the be the best recommended source of information on how to proceed? Things like sequence of operations, and basic settings to get operational, with the intent to scale up as time allows.
Learning how to do all this would be great and I intend to take some courses, but it all has to wait till I clear my plate of other priorities.

Hello,
thanks for contact us in our forum.
Yes the best option is to take courses and get microsoft certifications.
But you can find some interesting documentation here

in particular this link about Microsoft Admin Center

Had the system up and running. However, after adding some features and roles related to remote desktop but the server restarted with a black screen saying no OS. Tried reinstalling Server 2019 but keep getting the "We couldn't find any drives" message.
After reading thru the forum, I've edited the RAID and even deleted the VHD. The iDrac, Lifecycle, and RAID configuration all work but even when I had disks showing as an option, there was the "Couldn't find any partitions" messages. I am stumped how to install the PERC software from the other forum posts, as I cannot see where in the process is there a place to do so..

After fighting repeated experimental reboots without success all thru the night, I downloaded Server 2012 trial. Reset all the drives to RAID-5 and after installation from a bootable thumb drive...it successfully installed and restarted again successfully after downloading updates. Still functioning this afternoon.
Immediate system restore point set.
