Dell Storage MD1400 Virtual Disk Failed
We have a failed VD on a MD1400. There are no disks showing offline or needing to be replaced. However, 1 disk is foreign, 2 listed as just "ready." How to fix and bring VD back online are theses disks actually bad?

Hello,
With the amount of information here, I don't feel confident making any recommendation. However, I would encourage you to review your storage logs to see if the foreign drive can be safely imported back into the array. Virtual disks generally fail with cause, so determining what that cause is would be the best course of action. If all the monitoring software is indicating that the drives are fine, then you can most likely import the drive and be back in standard operation.

Ok, thank you. Yes, we attempted to import foreign configuration, but the import fails.

I'd be happy to look at any logs, files, or images you want to share in the thread.

It looks like you'd likely be able to import and continue on. If the forum wont let you upload the log bundle here, you can do so at the page below. You'll just need to provide your service tag so the system knows where to store it.
