Having just added a second expansion shelf to an MD3820i head, RAID 10 configuration on the disks.

Expecting that the array will automatically rebalance disks, I didn't expect it to refuse to allow me to add the extra disks on the basis that they would not be mirrored with disks on an alternative shelf and ergo retain Enclosure Loss Prevention.

It APPEARS (and for lack of finding better documentation this is somewhat an assumption), that I would have to manually remove disk pairs and reassign them to balance between the two shelves and the head unit disks.

Does anyone know if there's a hidden routine, perhaps it's CLI driven, that will allow me to add the disks and rebalance the RAID mirror automatically?
