MD3600F - Invalid Power Supply

Hello world,

I've a MD3600F bay. I have the following error :

Node ID: MCT_MD3600F_Store9
Event Error Code: 280b
Event occurred: août 19, 2022 2:16:24 PM
Event Message: RAID enclosure component failed
Event Priority: Critical
Component Type: Power Supply
Component Location: Enclosure 0, Power Supply/Cooling Fan module 2, Slot 1

Service Action (removal) was not allowed, but i replaced the failed power supply by an another one with same PartNumber (ie : 06N7YJ).

So after that, recovery Guru told me that the new Power Supply was INVALID.

...

So i decided to replace the failed Power Supply in place of the new one, but the "Invalid Power Supply" error stay on.

I guess this error is caused by the fact that I hot swapped the power supply when the action removal service was not authorized, but I failed to activate it...

I'not absolutety sure, that the power supply is failed, because, i have sometime same error on the other PowerSupply (other slot)..

Any idea is welcome.

best regards

Hello @Gw. ETIENNE,

Yes. I am afraid your should never remove a component wheithout the Service action removal allowed. If the SAA field is NO, then the affected component must remain in place until you service another component first.

When a component has an error but has “Service action (removal) allowed: No” that means that the component has most likely failed but it is continues to establish a connection with the MD

The only way to solving this is to use SMcli. Other times is enough with a fresh start without the failed component. That should detect the component is not present.

However, you are telling me the other supply may had an error. So first of all, make sure you have a data backup. You may have the 2 Power Supplys in malfunction.

Regards.
