Me4024 - Host Setup - Discovered Status No
Hi,
I deploy a brand new ME4024 storage with FC, connected to Brocade Switch and Switch connected to Esxi servers.
From Host menu, i managed to create the initiator for each module with relevant ID and mapped to relevant volumes. But the discovered Status remains No in GUI PowerVault Manager. Somehave it doesnot show online.
However when i login in ssh of controller and issue the command show port status, it says the link is up.
Any tips to make it online in GUI ? Refer below screenshot.
Cheers,

GNrueil,
To start, you shouldn't need to create the initiator manually, if it is connected it shows up. Also, the link showing connected only means that there is a logical link, not that it can see the initiator at the current time.
Now with the Discovered status, there isn't a way to force it.
What I would start with is to verify that you have done note zoning, as it should be done, to rule this out you could direct connect from host to storage to see.
After that we would probably need logs and a TSR to confirm the configuration, and that it is currently connected.
If so then upload them to upload . dell . com and private message me the svc tag used to upload them.
Let me know if this helps.

Sorry for the delay, I reviewed the storage log you uploaded, but didn't find the switch logs. If you would also upload them as well I can get a clearer picture.
From what I saw in the storage logs the configuration isn't correct, you had manually added the storage identifier and put the address of the storage port. So what I would suggest is to delete the identifier, as it will populated once it connects. Then again look at your zoning, as I would only assume is incorrect, as the host isn't connected.
If you like you can also call in and support can help directly.

Hi Chris,
thanks for your help ! The zoning done the trick, after zoning the modules, the storage discovered the sfp modules. I thought that SFP modules should be discovered by default while connected to Storage even before creating zoning.
