Hello @Maurizio1,

Welcome to the Dell Community!

If the hard drive has not failed yet and is still only in Pred fail status. You need to prepare it for exctraction. To do so, you need to mark it as offline. You can perform this action from OMSA. Please, check this: PowerEdge HDD: What is predicted Drive Failure and how to solve it? https://dell.to/2V4vkUv and this one: Dell PowerEdge: How to switch offline a hard disk using OpenManage Server Administrator https://dell.to/3rt2FVc

Hope it works. Please, let me know if you have more questions.
Regards.

With a disk in pred fail.. You never know, it can fail tonight or after a month.. Normally, if the server is in warranty we replace the disk without hesitation as soon as it happens.

So my recomendation is to replace it. Otherwise you could risk to have a different error on a different disk and find a worst scenario.

Regards.
