Dell precision (T3400) desktop no boot, light 1,2,3,4 and solid amber light

Hi all,

I have 3 of the precision T3400 desktop which has issues with windows 8.1. This happened after I change the screen orientations / unplug multiple screens. I cannot find any solution with all the diagnostic light on.

upon power up, the front panel showed  both diagnostic light 1,2,3,4 and HDD light, and solid amber power. which means it cannot pass pre POST.

I have swap and pull out most of them parts include ram, power supply, graphic card, cpu, and there is no change with the light after plug the PSU into wall power socket.

I have also tried to reset the bios pin on motherboard (change from 3-4 to 1-2) for more than 5 seconds, still the same issue.

USB can power mouse with front usb panel, but not from motherboard usb at the back.

Can anyone provide me some suggestion what is the issue with the motherboard? can it be easily fixed?

Thanks for your reply.

according to the chart above, LED 1,2,3,4 on means 'End of POST - Hand off to boot.'

As mentioned, upon I plug in the wall power, all the panel light instantly on (LED 1,2,3,4 , HDD and solid Amber power). I have to force shut down by unplug the power cable.

usually the LED will jump between the lights during normal boot, but this is not the case.

I have a quick look with the capacitors  I cannot spot bad / bulge capacitor so far. Im pretty sure its the issue with the motherboard.

What happened before (as mentioned in previous message), It was freeze during win 8 boot, then it restart to bios setting then it freeze again until I force shut down by unplug the power cable. then it stuck with this situation.

Are there any other way to hard reset the motherboard?

a14n,

Unfortunately, there is no way to hard set the motherboard on this system.

I also have problem with Dell Precisiton T3400. When i start the computer, all fans start running at full speed. The number 2 and 4 appear first, then a beep sounds for 1 second, and finally the lights come to 1, 2, 3.

Computer working perfectly before blowing with the compressor. I tried everything but it won't show the image on the screen.
