Dell Precision 5560 Freezes

From a few days since I started using my Dell which was purchased brand new, while I'm operating it, it just freezes. Kepboard, mouse, screen, everything just stops responding. I have to hard restart by pressing down the power bottom for about 10 seconds before I can get back to it.

I thought it was a software issue I could rectify but I've tried every remedy I could find online from YouTube, Reddit, Dell website, everywhere. But the problem persists. I think it may be a hardware glitch.

Sometimes, the BIOS blue screen comes up, but very rarely. Other times, it just freezes like I said. I've updated drivers, updated bios, checked for malware, disabled Intel C-state, etc. But I still keep experiencing this issue. I've had the laptop for less than a month and I'm running out of patience.

Please, has anyone experienced this and found a lasting solution?

I would try two other things to help narrow down where the problem may lie:

  • Boot into Safe Mode to see if the problem occurs there
  • Try in Linux (by booting from a flash drive with Live USB install of Ubuntu, Xubuntu or other)

If you cannot determine the cause, contact Dell Support (if under warranty). And, since you say you recently bought this laptop new, contact your vendor to discuss their return policy.
