Precision 5540
My Dell Precision 5540 suddenly stopped charging from the USB-C port connected to a Thunderbolt dock. It worked perfectly for 2 years. The Thunderbolt supports 2 external Dell monitors and a remote keyboard. Tried updating BIOs and all MS updates are current. Is Dell working on a fix for this or are the 5540 owners stuck with a permanent problem?

The battery might have failed. Batteries last only about 2-3 years now.

Does your charge when you connect the AC adapter to the power power?
I have a Precision 5530 that had the same issue. Has been connected to w19 dock 3 years and this week it decided to stop charging. I can charge the battery using the ac adapter and then plug the dock back to get everything running with the exception of charging. Swapped out dock and dock power supplies and still no go. This seem to be a reoccurring issue with Precision 5530 and 5540.
If the battery charges using ac adapter, then it is not a battery issue......
