Whether or not you can set the discrete GPU as primary depends partly on the GPU -- which one do you have?

It's customarily only the highest level GPU options that have this feature.

@ejn63 GPU is NVIDIA RTX A1000, but assigning it as the default has to be in BIOS. BIOS on my workstation is different from anything I saw before 

@GeneG_FL​ Not sure if this is helpful,  but I had someone working on my Precision 5570 this morning (not a Dell technician).  He simply disabled the Iris Xe graphics card in Device Manager.  It defaulted to NVIDIA.

@GeneG_FL​ Sadly this isn't available on all laptops (5570 here), which is basically Dell telling us they are bad at cooling. Put an RTX A1000 in a computer, sell it for $3500, and never let the user actually use it because we don't trust our cooling system. 

@charlie_whiskey​ This actually works, unless you are using a dock and external monitors. It's bonkers how Dell did the scheduling on the discrete GPU (Fullscreen aps or Intel basically overheating), and then removed the option to turn off Hybrid graphics from the BIOS.

Anyone know why Dell removed this option from the BIOS on the Precision 5570?
