MATT.g,

I had the same problem with my personal dell H825cdw Printer not waking from sleep mode. I had to go in and add the DHCP/IP address in the printer control panel. You can click the link below to download the online users manual for information on how to set this up.

Troubleshooting Sleep Issues Connected via Network

Sleep issues from a network connected printer are caused by the printer losing its DHCP lease. When the printer goes to sleep, it stops communicating with the network. This causes the DHCP Server to release the IP that the printer is using. The printer will not renew its DHCP lease until it is woken up (this will have to be done manually since the printer no longer has an open line of communication to the network).

To resolve this issue, set a DHCP reservation for the printer on the DHCP server or router. In order to do this, the printer will need to be set to DHCP mode for address assignment. Once the printer has obtained an IP through DHCP, access whatever device manages DHCP address assignment to create the lease. If using a static IP for their printer, you can reset the static IP to the same address as the DHCP reservation once the lease is in place (this is not necessary, however).

In the mean time I found out how to set the lease type to STATIC through my router. Lets hope this works.

Matt.g,

I apologize for the wrong link. I have corrected it and now will go to the drivers and manual page for the E515DW printer.

thank you for your support. I went into my router admin panels and set the lease for this printer to static,I did this yesterday. Sure enough I tried to print again today and the printer showed as offline. I noticed that my router admin panel shows the lease as static but it has an expiration of x number of minutes.  I realize that this outside your area, any idea how to change this? Is this my issue or do i have to change a setting on the printer?

MATT.g,

Did you try channel 11? Most wireless devices connect better using channels 1, 6 or 11. I prefer channel 11 because of better reception. I use these Recommended Wireless Router Settings and haven't had a device that would not connect.

In Windows 7 thru 10, Internet Explorer 11 was causing problems with printer communications. Turning off the balloon tips for the printer helped correct this issue.(This was for Dell V Series Inkjet Printers)
