E515dw, software installation hangs and never finishes

Need more details on OS and software you are using.

The os is Windows 7 Prodessional.  The software is the Dell E515dw software application suite

I have several of these printers and have never had a problem installing before.  Only on 2 pcs has it gotten stuck and never finishes

Does it install on any other systems? Or is this the only one you have?

So you have other PCs that it does not get stuck on?

Yes I have several that it did not get stuck on

Run msconfig and kill all your TSR's then on the reboot try the install

All your startup applications

What is TRS?  Services?

I can confirm that this is also happening on my Dell Latitude 3550 running Windows 10 Pro 64-bit (10.0 Build 14393)

We are using a Dell Latitude as well.  It has Windows 7 Professional on it though but its still not installing.  Just gets stuck.  I am going to try to disable services on startup to see if I can get it to install that way.  Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.

I was able to resolve this issue by extracting the Dell software download with 7Zip 64bit and then running the installer. Previously, I was extracting with the built in Windows unzip utility. Hope this helps!

This is the solution. Also applicable to e515dn. DELL please look into this.

I have tried installing 3times, including after RE-extracting with 7zip. Installation hangs every time halfway through the Installing Software screen. Maddening. Any other suggestions? I’m on a brand new Lenovo Windows 10 64bit machine. Printer is on my WiFi (others can print to it). 

I had the same problem (for e310dw): install hung up even after unzipping with latest 7Zip (7z1805). But when I unzipped with the previous 7Zip (7z1604), it competed the installation. Good luck!
