How could I do Faxing from computer?
Hello,
My computer on Win 7 x64 Ultimate.
I scan a handwritten letter in document pdf format and save it under my scan documents in my computer HD.
How could I send this scan-document [pdf] from my computer to a distant fax in a home that has only fax facilities?
Thank you for your help.

Thanks for the feedback and that you got your fax sent.
HERE is an example of a "data/fax modem" that could be installed in your PC. And, as noted it would connect to a standard analog voice telephone connection.
Actually, unless you regularly send or receive faxes, services like you used is the best option. If you regularly send or receive faxes a better option is to buy an All in One printer/scanner that also has built in fax capabilities. THIS is an example.

In order to fax, you need (1) A Fax data modem (a "dialup" Data/FAX datamodem), (2) a standard analog telephone line, connected to the fax modem, and (3) a fax program.
There are internet companies that you can e-mail a fax to and they will fax it for you, for a fee. If this is just a one time fax it may be better to do this. Do a google search, HERE is one that I found with google.

Hi FIREBERD,
1.The one off fax you have suggested served my purpose. Thank you.
2. So I with Broadband will not be able to set up a fax, unless I buy a Data/FAX data modem? Where do connect it-in my computer - I have already connected to my ethernet with my broadband lead off the wall from my telephone plug?

Your dsl broadband connection is not used for faxing. It needs a separate connection from your analog phone line to a data fax modem--very antiquated method that is rapidly going out of use now that the Internet can handle sending documents in emails. Look up Fax in Windows Help or in Fax and Scan Help. It will tell you what you need to know.
