PowerVault NX3100 - BIOS update error - "The update package is invalid for current system."
ISSUE:
BIOS update error - "The update package is invalid for current system."
1) FAILED to update directly from Bios Ver 1.10.2 to Ver 1.14.0.01 (Failed with above error - I then decided to update the BIOS with previous updates)
(Filename: BIOS_PYCXX_WN64_1.14.0_01.exe from the DELL PowerVault NX3100 support page - it was listed under the name "Dell Server BIOS PowerEdge R510 Version 1.14.0" Popular/Urgent)

Our configuration: PowerVault NX3100 running Windows Storage Server 2008 R2 Standard (going to upgrade to Windows Server 2012 R2 - then attempt upgrading to Windows Server 2019)
2) Updated BIOS successfully to Ver 1.11.0 -->> Filename: BIOS_99YRG_WN32_1.11.0.exe from DELL PowerVault NX3100 Support Page
3) Failed (with above error) BIOS update to Ver 1.12 -->> Filename: BIOS_DJ0VY_WN64_1.12.0.exe from DELL
4) BIOS Ver 1.12; 1.13; & 1.14 update files are from the R510 Support page -
Any suggestions? I would like to update the BIOS to Ver 1.14 in preparation to upgrade the OS to Win Server 2012 R2.

Hello Jessie,
It looks like you are at the latest BIOS for NX3100 and I would also point out the supported OS on NX3100.
NX3100
BIOS 1.11.0 latest
Compatible Systems: PowerVault NX3100

We wouldn't have WS2012R2 - WS2019 drivers.
The R510 BIOS 1.14.0 seems to be mislabeled as the release notes show it's only for R510. None of the other BIOS 1.11.0, 1.12.0, 1.13.0 show supported for NX3100:

Hey Charles,
Thank you for your reply. Interesting that you state that the BIOS Ver 1.14.0 does not show a listing for the NX3100. Here is the link of the details for this BIOS

And if you go down to "Compatible Systems" it actually lists NX3100. You believe that this is the mislabeled information?
I do have a question if you can answer it:
Even though DELL states that Win Server 2012 or 2019 is not supported on the NX3100...do you believe that it installing these OSes will work on the NX3100?

If you also check Previous versions-
1.11.0, 1.12.0, 1.13.0 (does not list NX3100)
Yes you can try 2012-2019 and see if it works but we won't have drivers for those OS.
