Updating r815

Hi

I have few r815 and we have never updated anything on it yet. Basically what needs to be updated? Bios and firmwire ? It does not have the lifecycle controller. But on the dell drivers page I see the binary file for Lifycycle controller? Does this mean I can get the life cycle controller on 815s?

Thanks

Paras.

Hi Paras,

The LCC is embedded, so you should be able to use it.

Since you have never updated the servers, can you please provide the firmware levels you are currently on so we can get an idea of what we have?

Please send a private message with your service tag to ensure we have all appropriate information on your system.

Thank you,

Hi Paras,

Thank you for the service tag.

You will need to get the firmware individually unless you have OpenManage Server Administrator installed. You could get it from there.

Thanks,

Hi thanks for the reply. I have Linux installed. By any chance I can download the 64 bit versions of drac and lcc updates?. The bin file I have downloaded are for 32 bit.

Thanks

Paras.

I downloaded ESM_Firmware_9GJYW_LN32_2.90_A00.bin from there

and when I ran it says

The following packages are required:

compat-libstdc++-33.i686 libstdc++ libxml2.i686

I installed them but still the same dependency problem.

What did i miss ?

Thanks

Paras.
