First Full replicated Copy complete.. is it safe to stop and start replication.?

Hey Group,

We have two VNX 5300...

We just completed our first full replication copy and are working on the replicating the delta changes.

I would like to confirm that it's okay to stop and start the replication if we need to make a replication circuit change for example?  Now that we have a FULL copy.

Also, we had an issue where we DID NOT have any thottling turned on so we were over powering our replication circuit.

We have since turned on bandwidth throttling and noticed through ping tests that we are seeing NO retry transmission failures...but our transfer rate hasn't changed?  Would this rate change  if we stopped and restarted the replication?  Now that we have throtling turned on and we should be getting better replication circuit performance???

What is the best practice for DeDUP?  Should we be using it?  What is the groups consensus on DeDUP?

Thanks!

Hi,

Sorry to ask but your question is not stating what are you using for replication. From terms it seems your using RP with VNX splitter at both ends and you need to know what happens if you stop and start the replication back?

And when you say replication circuit do you mean Consistency Group ?
