Dimension 8400 will not boot from cd or dvd drive
Hello,
I have a Dimension 8400 that refuses to boot from the cd or dvd drive. In the bios, i have tried moving "Onboard or USB CD-ROM Drive" to the first position in the boot sequence. Also, I tried pressing "f12" when booting to access the boot menu. I tried to select the "onboard or usb cd-rom" option from there with a bootable cd in both drives and still haven't had any success.
Any help will be greatly appreciated, Thanks.

Same problem with Dell dimension E520.
I replaced the two CD rom, I thought that is the problem but after I found out the CD / DVD drive missing. Now I cant do nothing, I can not find one and no longer support at Windows XP..
I can not reboot from the Windows XP original CD.. Why??? I think these is a BIOS set up problem or the machine problem on the end..
Can I get some help please, I invested a lot (too much) into these machine
