Someone on your end had to have entered the system Bios, Security screen, and added a password to the HDD Password section?

If the password cannot be found, Contact Dell for Password release code.

Were you able to clear the CMOS portion of the password (remove the drive to check).

If so, chances are the drive has failed -- and in any case, even though the reset will remove the password from the CMOS, it won't touch the password on the drive.  That can be removed only with specialist tools such as those a data recovery service has.

If you were able to clear the CMOS password, the least expensive way to proceed, assuming you don't need the data on the drive, is to replace the drive.  If you do need the data on the drive, a data recovery service can likely retrieve it, but the cost of doing so is not insignificant (it'll start at around $600 and can quickly escalate much higher).
