VPLEX Metro Data center relocation without full rebuild?
Hello,
I have a question for the VPLEX Gurus?
We have a VPLEX VS2 Metro deployed with one cluster in data center DC1 and another in DC2.
Most servers are ESX in uniform host-access cluster setup (Each ESX is cross connected to both VPLEX clusters).
Later this year the customer will mover from DC1 to another data center DC3.
Move virtual server load to DC2.
Shutdown hardware in DC1 and move it to DC3.
Connect and power-up hardware in DC3.
But how can we make sure that the VPLEX Metro will not do FULL rebuild?
We already did a basic test: unplug all BE FC cables between the VPLEX in DC1 and the Storage Arrays in order to simulate bringing down the Storage.
But after replugging we had a FULL rebuild.
Thanks for any experiences or hints,
Francis

Please consider moving this question as-is (no need to recreate) to the proper forum for maximum visibility. Questions written to the users' own "Discussions" space don't get the same amount of attention and can go unanswered for a long time.
You can do so by selecting "Move" under ACTIONS along the upper-right. Then search for and select: "VPLEX".
Seeing though that over 5 months have elapsed since you posted, maybe you have already found the answer (possibly opened up a ticket with support)? If so, once relocated, consider sharing the resolution and also marking the question as "Answered" so that it can help others that have the same question. If not, once relocated, it will then have more visibility by the community of dedicated customers, partners, and EMC employees that are eager to assist.
