2007WFP max resolution issue under Vista

I have a 2007WFP that runs perfectly at 1680 x 1050 under XP SP2. However, I have installed Vista in a dual-boot format on the same PC (Dim 5150 with an ATI Radeon X1900 GT graphics card) and that particular resolution is not even an option.

Just yesterday I downloaded the Vista-specific drivers for both the monitor and the graphics card, and I still cannot get the option. I even uninstalled the drivers for both so that it had the native Vista drivers and it still doesn't showup (the max under all conditions is 1600 x 1200).

Does anyone have any ideas?

Where did you obtain the Vista specific driver for the monitor? I've checked Dell's list of new Vista drivers and the wide screen (2007WFP) isn't listed. They only list the 2007FP Vista driver.

Thank you! When I log in and they tell me the new 32 bit Vista drivers that are ready for my system, this wasn't listed.

How did you search the site? Looks like I can't trust the automated system.

No, no resolution yet. I have a case open with ATI as well and they're pretty slow and useless. Looks like we need some non-Dell monitors . . .

To set the monitors resolution to its native resolution (1680 x 1050), you need to use the Catalyst Control Center that is part of ATI driver software suite. The default options don't list the 1680 x 1050 resolution - you need to use the "Force" button.

Does the new Vista driver (or the new Dell driver) for the nVidia Geo Force 7900 GS support the native resolution of this monitor? (1680 X 1050)

Are you using the latest ATI drivers obtained from the ATI website (not Dell's website) - Catalyst Software Suite Version 7.1? Is your monitor the Dell™ UltraSharp™ 2007WFP 20.1-inch Widescreen Flat Panel? The 1600x1200 pixels native resolution is for the 20" non-Widescreen monitor, which is the best for that monitor.

I actually found the Force button, and the highest resolution it offer is 1600x1200, so it won't allow me to force 1680 x 1050. :(
