Cannot find "Repair your computer" on Advance Boot Options!
Help!
I want to do a factory restore of Vista on my XPS M1530. However, on Advanced Boot Options, I cannot find "Repair your computer", which the manuals refers to. I have have a thorough search around, and another suggestion was to press Ctrl + F11 on boot up, which you enable you to get to the restore this way. However, that does not work.
Does anyone have a solution to getting "Repair your computer" to reappear on Advanced Boot Options?! Thanks!
Edit: I do not have any Dell recovery disk (was not supplied with one), and the recovery partition is still present on the laptop and has not been removed. Any suggestions would be appreciated

mrobbo76,
If you can't get the "Repair Your Computer" option to show up in the F8 options menu but have an intact recovery partition and an OS CD available, you can restore to factory settings by following the steps in this article: Restoring Dell Factory Image From Microsoft Windows Recovery Environment.

mrobbo76,
Thank you for using the Dell Community Forum.
Try pressing the F8 key instead of Cntrl + F11 to choose "Repair Your Computer"

Hi guys,
Thanks for the swift response. Dell-Jesse L, sorry, I was not clear enough in my original post :) By pressing F8 to access Advanced Boot Options, I cannot see "Repair your computer". I went on to try Ctrl and F11 at start up and this did not do anything.
Dell-Chris Bu, ok thanks I will try this. However, I have not got a Vista CD as I did not get one with the laptop! Can I simply borrow somebody else's Vista CD?
Also, I think I might order the recovery disks from Dell....
Thanks guys
