F8 with windows XP ?
Hello,
F8 doen't run on my Dimension 8400 with windows XP ?
If you have a good idea ...

Hello,
Thank for your mail , with F8 I want do a no failure start windows .
When I do defrag I have always some fragments files perhaps because some program run.
With F8 I have only the base of windows XP and I think defrag run well , OK ;

Are you tapping F8 during boot ( not pressing and holding down) . . tap about twice a second

Sounds like you are wanting to start XP in the Safe Mode . . You should be able to do that by repeatedly tapping F8 during boot . . if that does nothing, you may have to change a setting in your BIOS to recognize legacy USB perhiperals . . that assumes you have a usb keyboard?

Hello,
Sorry but I have a PS2 keyboard ( no USB ) and F8 is no operate , I don't undestand ?
I have Dimension 8400 with Bios A07 and matrix raid 0 and raid 1 2*250Go with 2 Go DDR2 SDRAM
Pentium 4 3.4 Ghz ...
