Lost Word Program

Hello, I reinstalled a fresh and clean Windows Vista OS on my Dell Studio 1737 jsut this last week and didnt back up my files on any disks or anything. Luckily Dells Back Up System utilities did have that covered for me and I was able to recover almost everything file and folder  thought I had lost such as pictures, documents and other stuff. Buth one thing so far that I havent been able to recover so far is my Microsoft Word program to a usable program. The files are there I see but I dont know how to make it new again. Any help and suggetions out there would great be appreaciated.

MarshallBailey,

You will need to manually reinstall MS Word (office) back into the system in order to view the word docs. I am not sure which version of office you had installed. If you do not have the MS Office install disk you will need to purchase another copy.

There are several good free word processors that will work with MS Word (and Excel, etc.): Kingsoft, Open Office and Libre Office.
