I got a new Inspiron 710m and did a clean install. I got a yellow ? for the Mass Storage Controller and it was driving me nuts. I read posts about chipset drivers and so forth. Well, it turned out to be quite simple. I had sort of ignored the SD Card Reader because I don't have any SD cards. I installed that driver and bingo, the problem was gone.

All things considered, the process was simple, the driver CD adequate, and all goes well. I rather like the 710m.
