connecting problems

connecting problems

I am running pocketcloud on xoom pad, trying to connect via wifi to my desktop running 64 bit Vista with cloud companion and tight VNC installed. The desktop computer is shown in my available connections and when I select it it asks for the VNC password. When I enter it, it shows it connecting, however it never actuaaly connects and my pad eventually times out and goes to sleep. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

HI Posttoast, Ca you please check if you can connect to the desktop using any desktop vnc client(other desktop). It is possible that the vnc server is not responding or not available.

Can you verify that you are running the latest versions of the Windows Companion and PocketCloud. Please note that PocketCloud has not been tested with Honeycomb (Android 3.0)

I am running companion that I just downloaded today from the this site and pocketcloud free ver 1.1.108, which I don't know if this is the latest version or not. Perhaps it's due to the honeycomb OS? Can I rule out problems w/VNC or Windows settings?

Posttoastee,

Please make sure you are entering VNC password, NOT your PC password when asked for VNC password.

If prompted for a VNC password, but you don't know what it is
Go to Start > Programs > Tight VNC > TightVNC Server (Service Mode) > TightVNC Service (Control Interface). After you do that you should see a "V" icon in your tray. Right click on that and select "Configuration". You will then be able to set your "Primary password".

Have you been able to confirm if this software works with the xoom/honycomb?

I'm using PocketCloud on a Xoom and connecting to a computer using XP Pro with no problems.
