Epson TM U325d Printer

I have an Epson TM U325d printer attatched to a Wyse Model SXO winterm. The printer will lock up and our software will say Hardware Failure. I was told that the serial port Baud rate may need to be lowered from 19200 to 9600 and the dipswitch on the printer flipped to #7 ON position. This makes the printer print jibberish. Is there another Wyse setting that I can change? The printer is set up on the winterm as a RDP Generic Text only printer.
