XPS 15 9500 windows hello
Hi guys,
Recently, I've had some issues with the Windows Hello facial recognition feature on my brand new Dell XPS 15 9500 that it sometimes doesn't work after the start up. Then, I went to the device manager, uninstalled the windows Hello driver and tried to reinstall it again. However, after I pressed the "scan for hardware changes", the driver does not appear again anymore no matter what I do.
As for the XPS 15 9500 owners, could someone help me to extract the windows hello facial recognition driver under the "biometrics" in the device manager ? I'm really frustrated right now and I really don't want to reinstall the whole system again--- I am busy recently.
Model: XPS 15 9500

Hi Mike,
Could you please try the following : C:\Windows\System32\WinBioPlugIns\FaceDriver\hello face. Right click on hello face click install restart and check if that works.

Hi there @DELL-Cares I have exactly the same problem, screenshot here shows there is no option to Reinstall as per instructions here, and there are no previous versions to roll back to. Windows Hello still doesn't appear in Device Manager. Problems started after a January 2021 update though I don't know which and it's happened on a lower spec Dell laptop of a friend, the biometric login stopped working for them too after updates.
