XPS 9310 - Bluetooth lag with Logitech MX Keys + MX Master 3

My XPS 13 9310 has Bluetooth issues just like my previous XPS 9360

I just received the laptop and updated all drivers, bios and Windows - Everything is up to date.

Connect my keyboard and mouse and off we go. Awesome laptop - If you don't mind your mouse getting stuck for 2-3 seconds. Or typing a few characters behind.

In the beginning with my 9360 I had a similar problem - Though I remember only turning off some mouse settings and that solved it. Now - can't figure out why out of the box a $2K laptop cannot perform as it should.

Oddly enough it was working pretty solid until today for me also.

Today I notice very odd behavior with Bluetooth when I use my headphones for calling + mouse and keyboard. Terrible lag and the system bogs way down like it's loading something.

Having the same issue with stutter on MX Master 3. Tried almost all the suggestions but the problem persists.

I don't think it's related to logitech drivers as I have the same issue with all my bluetooth mice of several brands

Same issue with all of my Bluetooth mice and keyboards. This needs to be fixed soon or the laptop is getting sent back and replaced!

I totally agree.

I already tried to contact Dell and Logitech support but without solving the problem.

We need an update of the bluetooth drivers from Dell as soon as possible

Yesterday I received a whole new motherboard and SSD due to some other errors I was receiving. Don't believe it was SSD related but Dell offered to swap both to save time.

After a clean install, new motherboard keyboard/mouse lag continues.

Purchased (cheap) for a test a Microsoft 1929 Bluetooth Optical Mouse - Same. This mouse lags just as bad...

I can't believe anyone working in R&D wouldn't catch this... Is Bluetooth mice/keyboard use that limited to where no one would notice that this machine does not function correctly on a BT mouse/keyboard?

Totally driver related at this point. Would have to imagine my chances of being struck by lightning would be greater than receiving 2 bad boards...

I also have a 9300 at home and just tried the cheap Bluetooth MS mouse on it and the same lag.

So this is more than just an issue with 9310. Though did not have this issue on my 9360.

@Anonymous - Is this the fault of the chip or the driver? I think someone up top must know about this issue. It can't be that no one has a clue if it occurs on multiple devices.

LOL I think this forum is just for people to vent. Sorry for the honesty. Dont think Dell is taking this serious, they have many devices and this is small problem for them. Cannt be that hard to update the bios for the bluetooth to work normal and predictable.

I want to keep my 9310 but will see

I ended up just returning it. Not about to live the dongle life hoping for a fix.

Plus my unit screen backlight flickered/shuddered on min brightness and white screens.

Oh well. Good luck guys. Hope you get a fix one day.

This helped me out! With my Anywhere MX no problems, but with Master S2 it keeps stopping. But uninstalled Logitech Options and all problems were gone! Reinstalled it afterwards and everything keeps working fine!

Still waiting on a fix @Anonymous ... Bluetooth lag happens on mice/keyboards from Logitech and Microsoft.

New motherboard also - check my service history. It's driver or bios related - Identical issues on both my xps 9300 + xps 9310.

Hi, I have exactly the same problem with my Dell XPS 13 9310 2 in 1 with MX Keys and MX Master 3. Please see the attached screenshot. Both are connected via Bluetooth. The issue appears, when the mouse is not moved for 5 seconds and then moved again. All updates are installed.

Windows 10 Pro 10.0.19041
Bios: Dell 1.0.3, 05.10.2020

I tried to disable some power settings options, no luck. The laptop is plugged into power. Performance mode enabled. Mouse stutters, it is very annoying. I had no issues when connecting via Logitech USB adapter.

@DELL-Cares Please contact me as well for a solution.

I have tried those solutions as well - nothing is working on a permanent level. It might be fine for a period and then goes back.

Somewhere they are limiting bluetooth functionality with keyboard and mouse to save power and it's not the same as in my 9360.

I opened a ticket on this problem when I first received the laptop (9310) back in October. Did not realize that it was also a problem on my 9300 until I tested it as I don't use a keyboard/mouse on that unit. But the problem is exactly the same.

I had another problem that seems more hardware/driver related than anything, but Dell insisted on changing the motherboard and SSD verses issuing the appropriate patches.

For me - I have a slew of issues with the XPS 9310.

When connected to their own Dell WD19TB dock with (1) 4K + (1) 1080p monitor gives me screen flicker when I reboot with the laptop lid closed. Turn the 4K monitor off and back on and it fixes the problem. Contacted Intel as I thought it was a driver issue and they confirmed it is BIOS related. A dell support agent also confirmed that to me and stated this was a known issue that was being worked on <--- That was a month ago and no update as of yet to the BIOS.

Cannot make screenshots on the 4K monitor or they come out extremely bleached or inelligible. Can't do a video call and share my screen either on the 4K.

When computer comes out of sleep have to turn HDR off and then back on to have the screen bright again. Otherwise it is just dim. Same can be said about the blue light filter.

I start my day with a coffee and scan the drivers page looking for updates, but so far they are busy fixing other issues - none of which seem to matter to my use case.

I highly doubt that it is hardware related - Unless they just used trash hardware all around. It really looks like driver or BIOS issues. For Christmas all I really want is Bluetooth functionality and better screen/monitor handling when using a DELL dock.

Newest updates installed, still no fix.

I have an OLD Dell Inspiron P58F lying around and tested the Bluetooth connectivity on this older windows build. Surprise: Disabling the power saving for the "Intel Wireless Bluetooth" adapter fixedm the stuttering for me (on this old laptop). I cannot fix this issue on my Dell XPS, as I have no power management option for the "intel wireless Bluetooth" adapter in the newest Windows 2004 build, I even updated to the not yet official 20H2 Windows build. Like a lot of people on the internet report, Bluetooth seems to be broken in the newest windows version. We will have to wait for a fix from Intel or Windows...
