XPS 9310 - Bluetooth lag with Logitech MX Keys + MX Master 3

My XPS 13 9310 has Bluetooth issues just like my previous XPS 9360

I just received the laptop and updated all drivers, bios and Windows - Everything is up to date.

Connect my keyboard and mouse and off we go. Awesome laptop - If you don't mind your mouse getting stuck for 2-3 seconds. Or typing a few characters behind.

In the beginning with my 9360 I had a similar problem - Though I remember only turning off some mouse settings and that solved it. Now - can't figure out why out of the box a $2K laptop cannot perform as it should.

Actually no - This has no change and does not improve mouse/keyboard performance @Nantero

At least on my system. Thanks for the tip though!

I've the same issue. Temporary, I've connected the MX master 3 and MX keys via usb dongle (fortunately I've a Dell dock so I don't have to use an ugly USB-C to USB-A adapter) but it is not normal the situation of purchas such an expensive laptop and have this type of issues

No definitely not. You would think that with this amount of money in development that it would be a more refined product.

Honestly once I started seeing people with the 9300’s also having this issue I kinda lost hope of a quick fix for the 9310.

Guys I wouldn’t hold your breath for a fix. I honestly think you need to ask yourself if you can live with this never getting fixed. Cause it is a possibility. Cause at this point it sounds like Dell and Logitech are just playing the blame game.  If it’s a deal breaker for you and your in the return window. I’d do that. It’s what I did. I’m not taking chances with a premium priced laptop not supporting basic functionality. Lol.

The main issue is not if you can live with this problem or if the blame came from Logitech or Dell, despite of the issue appears with BT mouses from others manufacturers too.

Personally, I think that an issue like this can't be so much difficult to solve, and I suppose that with a laptop like this, without USB-A ports, more than 99% of the users have a BT mouse or keyboard to use with it. So I don't know why Dell is not trying to fix it ASAP

Did you all get the bios update?

I am noticing some improvement. Though just booted up. Sometimes it takes a moment.

I noticed a clear improvement too.

It is'nt yet perfect (still lags sometimes) but thank you dell for this rapid update.

Hope to see another improvement with further updates.

Sorry to hear yall are having such a problem with this. Hopefully those updates will help get it sorted out.

My previous guess would have been that it had something to do with:

- Bluetooth version of those troublesome BT mice (not matching and backwards compatibility failing for whatever reason)
- Power-saving on Bluetooth radio
- Strong 2.4ghz WiFi interfering.

Also wanted to mention... I beta-tested the XPS-13-9300 and now the XPS-13-9310.

Used both an old Gigabyte BT mouse and also a Logitech M557 BT mouse. Never had a problem with either Bluetooth mouse on either machine.

There is an improvement after applying the BIOS update, but there is still the occasional lag for me too.

Has anyone tried the latest Bluetooth driver from Intel? The version on Intel's website is: 22.10.0.2. On Dell the version in Support Assist is 22.0.0.2.

So far after updating I have not yet noticed any lag.

They have a download tool you can use to check your XPS to get the right one at: https://downloadcenter.intel.com/

The release notes on this new driver mention:

On some systems with multiple Bluetooth devices (e.g. mouse, keyboard, headset or stylus) connected simultaneously, some devices may stop working or lose connection while in the middle of use.

Thank you for contacting us, we see that you have system not booting right now, probably after the BIOS update, could you please reboot the system and tap F2 to check if the BIOS shows up the hard drive, and also under boot options check if the HDD is listed as primary boot device.
