Hola, he notado que a mí Alienware se le infló la batería y quería saber sí habría algún problema de rendimiento o de algún tipo si le quito la batería físicamente y le vuelvo a montar sin ella.
Hello, I have noticed that I Alienware inflated the battery and wanted to know if there would be any performance problem or some kind if I physically remove the battery and reassemble it without it.
Thank you
Hi @antoniotrs welcome to this free user to user Alienware laptop discussion forum. This is not Dell Support.
Support for Alienware 17 R5 Documentation includes Handling swollen Lithium-ion batteries | Dell US If the battery leaks it will destroy Alienware 17 R5, humans, etc. If the battery spontaneously ignites/explodes the damage will be considerable. Please arrange for the battery to be removed without further delay and stored within sealed moisture resistant disposable packaging, away from human habitation. While the system will run without a battery, it may not be capable of running at full speed -- many newer Dell and Alienware systems use hybrid power, and I think you'll find this is one of them. They tap the battery under conditions of heavy load.
If you want the system to run at maximum performance, you will need to replace the battery. It will run at reduced levels if you are on AC only.
No -- nothing else will be affected by the absence of the battery (other than that a power interruption will shut down the system, as it would on a desktop computer).
The use that I give it is office automation so the computer hardly heats up. My question was more located in case the board or some other component would be affected by connecting it without the battery and Q I do not want to spoil the computer for issues of more voltage and stuff.
Postscript: I already removed the battery and it was inchada (swollen).

Getting to the battery within the Alienware 17 R5 is difficult. Please consult the Alienware 17 R5 Service Manual | Dell US and any of the many YouTube videos, Dell Alienware 17 R5 change battery - YouTube, and Damaged Alienware 15 Gaming Laptop With Dangerous Bulging Battery Problem - YouTube, etc.
Laptops with no battery are designed to function as Desktop on ac adapter power. The 17 R5 requires a battery because it is designed to run on Hybrid Power. See Alienware 15 R3/15 R4/17 R4/17 R5/M15/M17 performance issue or battery drain while AC adapter is connected | Dell US and Dell Part Number (DP/N) is to be found within Dell Alienware 17 R5 Battery | Dell Alienware 17 R5 Laptop Parts (parts-people.com)
