USB Keyboard Not Working
Hi all,
I recently purchased from Dell 2 USB keyboards so that I could use the USB ports located on each end of the keyboard. I have a Dell Dimension 4400 and a Dell Dim 4600. I have tried to put the new leyboard on my Dim4400 and I get a boot up error that some new hardware has been added and is not recognised by my computer. It allows me to continue to Boot to Windows normally, then after clicking this, I get the blue screen that says if this is the first time you have seen this screen, try again. I re-booted and the same thing happened. I wanted the ability to use these extra USB port because my Dim 4600 has no 3.5 drive. I have a memory key instead. And getting down to plug in this key into the back and bottom is not very convienent. So I came to the pros. Does my Dim4400 NOT have the ability to use this keyboard? Would it work better on my 4600 which is about a year and a half newer? Any help would be a blessing at this point. I'm on my 4400 and put back the serial port keyboard and it works... Thanks to all who have read my problem and I'd appreciate any help someone might provide. Thanks.... Art
BY the way.... If this helps... the keyboards are item number 4W840 - CUS,KYBD,104,RPG,US,RPG .... Thanks again
