9100 Audio Problem

It seems that my computer hates me. I've had some recent problems and once I fix one another pops up.

This time I have a problem with my audio. I have the Sigma Tel C-Major Audio device on my 9100. When I play games, movies, or even music I can hear everything just fine without my headphones plugged in. Now, I plug the headphones in and I can hear the background sounds but not (I guess you could call it) the foreground sounds (ex: the dialogue in games, videos, and music). I have no idea why this is. That's the problem and if anybody can figure it out without reading the rest of this post that would be sweet...and it would save you a some reading.

The rest of this post is more info that may help shed light on my problem.

I recently replaced my hard drive due to a bad sector, so I had to reinstall the drivers and what not. I installed the drivers...the sound was acting goofy as I described above. I then updated the drivers thinking that perhaps for some reason that would solve my problem. It of course didn't. Now, my friend...has THE SAME EXACT COMPUTER (when I say same exact computer...I mean the EXACT SAME THING...nothing different...same specs...same everything), he has not updated the drivers and he does not have this problem. You can plug the headphones into his and all of the sounds come through just fine. So, I rolled back the driver to the original...and I still have the problem.

All of the problems I've been having are just frustrating....I still love this comp, it's too powerful not to, but with all these little things nagging at my experience it's getting a bit silly.

I'd appreciate any suggestions anyone has.
