    Well i am a student trying to decide between two different laptops to purchase...my main uses of this laptop will be to surf the internet, play music, write papers, play online poker, and watch dvds every once in awhile(i am also on a budget). So my two choices are between:

1) dell 6000: with the student discount i can get 750 processor, ultrasharp WSXGA+, 1 GB, free video card upgrade, 80gb hard drive for approx $1,200

 

2) HP dv1000: with their student discount i can get 735 processor, WXGA BrightView widescreen, 512mb (1x), basic graphic media accelerator 900, 80 gb, plus a free printer for approx $1,200

 

It seems like i can get a lot more into 6000 but the HP does have the media direct which allows me to play music and dvd without booting windows(plus they have a remote) and it is lighter than the 6000

 

So i was hoping if anyone has heard opinions or feedback about each computer and would like to give me their opinion on what would be the best purchase!!!!!
