I realize that this is not supported by Dell - however a customer has requested XP Pro on this server.  I have read a couple of threads about the subject and it seems some have had success with this install.  I have not been as fortunate!

 

Initially I tried to install XP Pro through Open Manage, which would not work since it is not one of the choices from the provided OS list.

 

I then just restarted the server and allowed it to boot from the XP CD.  It goes through the pre-install ok until I have to specify where to install the OS.  It cannot find any hard drives on the system even though I have loaded the proper LSI Logic driver for the SCSI card for XP (obtained from their website).

 

Do I have to remove OpenManage in order for this to work?  I have read in a couple of existing threads that only server class OS' support OpenManage.  If so, how do I remove it?

 

Any suggestions/advice would be greatly appreciated.  Thanks...
