Laptop with Vista and A920 Printer
I bought a new Gateway NV52 with Windows Vista (not sure if 64 bit or not?) my Dell A920 Printer will not work. I first tried to download the software that came with the printer, and nothing happened.
Then I found that if I plugged the USB cord it allowed the printer to work. However, ink has been in the printer since 2005. Printer runs fine when I tried to print a page acting normally, but page blank. I think the ink is just dried up, and needs new cartridge. I believe the printer will run fine.
The scanner is another story when I press the scanner button on the printer nothing happens at all. In Start when I type scanner into the search bar scanners and cameras pops up with Dell A10 Printer A920 in the window. When I click on the printer and bring up the properties. In the General Tab under Diagnostics I clicked on Test Scanner. It says Test Successful your imaging device successfully completed the diagnostic test. Yet nothing happened with the scanner during that time, and the scan button still doesnt work.
So I need help getting the scanner to work properly. If someone can tell me how to tell what bit Vista I am running than I can let you know so the problem can be better diagnosed.
Thank you,
Danielle
