Go to SolutionGetting VPLEX to recognize VNX LUN renames
We have renamed a number of LUNs in our VNX array and wish to get that information to flow through to VPLEX without having to manually rename the Storage Volumes in VPLEX. I tried to do a dummy Claim Storage but that did not proceed as there was no Storage Volumes to claim.
Any suggestions?

You claim storage using mapping file(VPD Ids) but not with the names if the b/end storage array is VNX and if the array is VMAX you recognize them using symm dev Id. I think you have to manually rename the storage volumes irrespective of the b/end storage array.
