Computer Wont sleep and Loud Fan

Hi,

I have an almost two year old XPS (blue case). It has two hard drives, 150GB and 80GB. The 80GB has gone unused until yesterday when I installed Vista Beta on it, and left XP on the other.

I really love the new OS so far.

Two things I was wondering if anyone else is experiencing...

Ever since I got the computer, the fans have made quite a bit of noise - usually when I would open up any intense programs (photoshop, or a game) but also during normal computing. I could usually fix this by putting the computer to sleep and waking it up. When I start Vista the fans are always at full blast. I went through the XPS boards and found similar problems of people who said it was caused by a bad heatsink. I have a feeling that's what this is but think if I were the call Dell, the second I mention the word Vista they'd hang up on me. I did fan tests through the bios and my room is at a constant air conditioned 72 degress and the computer is in a well ventilated area

Also - unrelated... I put the computer on sleep/standy by mode every night. Last night, Vista kept waking up by itself. Is there a problem with Vista where the computer will not stay asleep?

Thank you for your help!
