Terrible Support - Dell lost another customer
To whom it my concern,
I just spent over 3hrs getting transferred from India to Philippines, back to India and then Philippines again. I was put on hold for around 1.5-2 hrs of that 3hr call. All I wanted to know what what happened to my warranty of my u2711 monitor; a monitor I paid close to a thousand dollars for. I was bounced from one representative to another, with each relaying to me that they do not have the tools to help me and will be transferring me to the "correct" department. The manager that I finally got hold of gave me 111 days of warranty when I should have been given more as I purchased my monitor in Summer 2011 and it came with a 5 year warranty thru Dell.com.
Suffice to say, I asked to file a complaint with someone who has oversight over these call centers and was denied and the "representative" hung up the phone one me.
I am an IT consultants and make a decent amount of hardware purchases that happen to be made by Dell. Based on this experience I will forever avoid purchasing Dell hardware or any Dell product in the future. I will educate anyone else who considers purchasing Dell products in the future to rethink their purchase and recommend ASUS or even HP products.
Dell "support" is the worst I have ever dealt with and I have spend a lot of time on the phone with other companies that are considered bad (Verizon & Comcast/TimeWarner).
I hope Michael Dell is aware of the state of affair with his call centers in India and Philippines. They are unprofessional, not very knowledgeable, and have a handicap with the English language. I have sat thru house of silence on the phone, have been transferred to bad extensions (call hangs up), and had to rely my personal information 9 times today to different representatives.
I wish someone from Dell corporate tries to call their own support center and get a taste of what their paying customers are getting everyday.
Good bye Dell, I hope in the near future you guys become relegated to obscurity like Compaq or Gateway based on how you treat your customers.
