Windows Explorer won't maximize properly
In regards to a Dell Inspiron N4110 running Windows 7 64-bit
It's easiest to understand by having a look at this picture first:
As you can see, the window is maximized completely, with the exception of about 1cm of space along the top edge of the screen. My window color is red, and my desktop is a blue Windows 7 picture. Not only can I see my desktop in this space, but I can also right click and interact with it.
This problem does not always happen upon start up, although it has before. But it ALWAYS happens after permission is needed to continue, when the screen dims. The only way I have found to get rid of the issue temporarily is to move the taskbar to the top of the screen and back down to the bottom. Oddly enough, whenever I do this little fix, I get an error message saying Dell DataSafe Local BackUp has malfunctioned.
My computer is less than a week old and I have noticed this issue from the 2nd day I was using it.
I have tried adjusting the taskbar, resolution and video settings. I uninstalled and reinstalled my video driver. I contacted Dell Customer Support, once through the chat function and once through the telephone and they were unable to provide insight or fix the problem. It keeps coming back
I realize this isn't really a big deal, but it's annoying because I have to aim when I "X" out of a window, instead just clicking in the top right corner. Also, it's driving me crazy just looking at it! Please help,
